Training with large groups, in a class, small groups or with your pals is awesome for the social aspects of training and fitness. For the lifestyle of fitness and the relationships that go along with it, working out within a group is a great option. Most of us probably started this way.
However, there is something special about training in solitude. No outside noise or distractions from completing the task at hand to the best of your ability. Nothing to worry about but achieving your objective. Embracing the suck in the solace of silence.
Training as a lone wolf will force you to confront your ego and be honest with yourself about your abilities, strengths and weaknesses. It will force you to be as efficient as possible due to the lack of outside social stimulus. And, it will likely help you build higher levels of confidence and mental fortitude.
Try it, you won’t regret it.
